Etape 6 : Confirmation d’un talent pur, BOASSON HAGEN

C’est un diamant pur de la jeune génération, au niveau mondial, à l’image de Peter SAGAN, capable de gagner sur tous les terrains. On aura l’occasion de parler de lui et de Peter SAGAN, encore et encore, tant leurs qualités sont grandes (une précision : Peter SAGAN n’est pas sur le Tour, jugé trop jeune, à juste raison. Rappelons qu’il a gagné une superbe étape de montagne au Tour de Suisse).<o:p></o:p>
Aujourd’hui le Tour offrait encore une arrivée spectaculaire, avec une belle bosse en ville à LISIEUX, située à <st1:metricconverter productid="2 km" w:st="on">2 km</st1:metricconverter> de l’arrivée. Notre VOECKLER y a porté une belle attaque qu’il n’a pu conclure victorieusement, rejoint à l’amorce du sprint final. Tous les puncheurs étaient là et je voyais Matthew GOSS (autre jeune talentueux, vainqueur de Milan San Remo 2011) s’imposer en l’absence de son leader CAVENDISH qui n’aime pas ce type d’arrivée en côte. Mais BOASSON HAGEN a lancé le sprint avant lui et a bien résisté à son retour. En fait, GOSS ne lui a rien repris du tout.<o:p></o:p>
A part ça, pas grand-chose à se mettre sous la dent, si ce n’est une petite guéguerre pour le maillot à pois, anecdotique, entre les membres de l’échappée avortée du jour.<o:p></o:p>
J’allais oublier : j’adore la 6ème place d’Arthur VICHOT, un tout jeune que j’ai eu le plaisir de voir évoluer, toujours à la bagarre et faire des numéros, dans les rangs des Espoirs Amateurs dans les joutes nationales avant qu’il passe pro à la FDJ. Lui aussi a de belles dispositions sur tous les terrains. Un vrai puncheur ! Tiens, un petit plaisir : je mets sa photo !<o:p></o:p>

LE TOUR - Etape 8 : DA COSTA au bout de l’échappée
Il y a eu 3 courses dans la course aujourd’hui. Celle de l’échappée, celle de VINOKOUROV qui a tenté le coup de force pour le maillot jaune, et celle des vainqueurs potentiels en tête du peloton.<o:p></o:p>
L’échappée : c’est la première du Tour qui voit un de ses membres vaincre à l’arrivée. Les 4 derniers rescapées de cette échappée (de 9 au départ) se sont livrés à une belle bataille dans les 10 derniers km. Il faut les citer : le grand espoir des USA, Tijay VAN GARDEREN, 22 ans, grande classe, potentiel d’un futur vainqueur d’un grand tour, Christophe RIBLON de AG2r, vice champion du Monde sur piste et vainqueur d’une superbe étape de montagne dans le Tour 2010, Cyril GAUTIER (Europcar) et le futur vainqueur, le portugais Roberto FARIA DA COSTA. Ce dernier a réussi à s’isoler de ses compagnons pour tenter de rallier l’arrivée en solitaire. Et il y est parvenu.<o:p></o:p>
Alexandre VINOKOUROV : il est sorti du 1er peloton, en fin de course, pour tenter de reprendre les 36 secondes qui le séparaient du maillot jaune, qu’il n’a jamais porté. Il a échoué de peu, repris dans le dernier km, mais quel beau panache et quelle combativité ! Un vrai guerrier qui ne craint pas de prendre des coups !<o:p></o:p>
Les leaders potentiels du Tour : Ils se sont neutralisés par coéquipiers interposés, pour s’affronter dans les derniers 500m de l’arrivée à Super Besse. On a vu CONTADOR attaquer en premier, suivi comme son ombre par les SCHLECK et EVANS. Puis, derrière le démarrage hyper puissant de GILBERT pour aller conquérir le maillot vert pour lequel il s’est pris d’affection, on a encore vu Cadel EVANS lancer un sprint hyper puissant à l’issue duquel personne n’a pu le devancer pour la 3ème place.<o:p></o:p>
Une bien belle étape celle là ! Celle de demain, Issoire/St Flour, risque d’être pas mal aussi.<o:p></o:p>

Etape 5 : Que des chutes et CAVENDISH 1èr
Le scénario était écrit : morne étape où l’échappée matinale est rejointe aux abords de l’arrivée et qui se termine par un sprint massif. Sprint massif il y a eu, remporté par Mark CAVENDISH, heureux de débloquer le compteur. Il bat Philippe GILBERT qui n’a pu se rattraper de sa bévue de la veille. Un sprint où William BONNET, très bien placé, s’est obstiné à tirer un braquet énorme (le 11 dents) alors que ses adversaires directs avaient 1 ou 2 dents plus souple. Il n’avançait plus dans ce faux plat montant qui conduisait à l’arrivée. Une leçon à retenir !<o:p></o:p>
Ce qui n’était pas écrit, c’est le nombre considérable de chutes, ayant entraîné à terre un grand nombre de coureurs et je ne citerai que les plus huppés : CONTADOR, GEESINK, POPOVITCH, HORNER, BRAJKOVIC (abandon), BOONEN (très attardé), STEEGMANS (idem), WIGGINS, CHAVANEL, LEIPHEIMER, SORENSEN, tout cela sur 5 chutes bien distinctes.<o:p></o:p>
Cela traduit un peloton particulièrement nerveux, et un nombre (encore) élevé de prétendants au podium, qui ne veulent pas se faire piéger par une cassure en restant à l’arrière. Tout le monde veut rester à l’avant, mais il n’y a pas de place pour tous. Et forcément ça frotte et ça chute. Après les Pyrénées, ça ira beaucoup mieux, car les prétendants seront bien moins nombreux. <o:p></o:p>
